I was contacted by Bob Blazich, President of the Mequon-Thiensville Historical Society recently. Bob informed me that they are receiving a gift of a complete flat file cabinets and asked if we could make use of their existing cabinet. I was very appreciative of the offer, so I took a trip to their new offices to take a look at it.
The cabinet is in great condition, and can hold “E” size documents which can be up to 36 x 46 inches. Our existing cabinet holds up to “D” size drawings, which is a bit smaller at 24 x 36 inches. I think this will be a great addition to our archive storage and prepare us for any large posters or engineering and architect type documents.
When I arrived, it was Mary Sanor, M-T Historical Society coordinator, that welcomed me. She was clipping ads and articles from the Cedarburg News of September 13, 1950. She said, “Here are some items on Grafton; I’ll clip them for you.” I think there are quite a few of our members who’ll recognize these ads.
I would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to the Mequon-Theinsville Historical Society, Bob and Mary, for their generosity and kindness.
